The Pokemon-Card official site updated tonight with a small update. Firstly, Shiny Collection which is due out on the 1st of February has been moved to the feature rotator, and with it we’ve got a look at MeloettaEX, the first EX card (and with Generation VI coming, likely her only one) in the BW TCG run. MeloettaEX is 011/020. They also showcased the SR ReshiramEX and Gardevoir which were both revealed earlier at the Jump Festa reveal.

MeloettaEX looks beautiful, and the fact that all the Shiny Collection cards have holo unique to each and every card makes her look even more beautiful than ever.

Additionally Daichi Pan are doing a cross promotion with their Pokemon Pan range and the PTCG. From the 1st of February there will be special packs available at most places Pan is stocked, which come with two Pan (either petite melon or petite curry) and a single card. Four of the cards at present are simply reprints of prior promos with a daichi pan logo on them, but there is a fifth secret card that hasn’t been revealed yet which will have it’s own original illustration unique to the campaign.

Hot off the heels of the release of BW8 which is happening at the end of the week, already distributors have details and preliminary images of the next set which will be hitting us in March of 2013.

BW9 is called Megalo Cannon and features Genesect as the feature Pokemon which will undoubtedly see an EX. The set is due out on the 15th of March 2013, and will have 76 cards + secret/ultra rare cards. Given Genesect was teased as the potential leading movie Pokemon for the 2013 run, and now is being featured in the anime, it seems our next July set will be vastly different from peoples initial predictions.

Genesect is shown using it’s Shock Plate. Will we see multiple EX cards of this legendary like we did the Arceus Lv.X cards? Only time will tell.

Additionally, a new Combo Deck will be released on the same day. Simply named Combo Deck 60 Blastoise + KyuremEX the deck will retail for 1,680円 and presumably features 60 cards (of which only around 15-25 of those will probably be unique.) Details are very scarce for this one right now.

On July 13th, the next major BW sets are going to land. Aptly titled Freeze Bolt [フリーズボルト] and Cold Flare [コールドフレア], the sets will revolve around White Kyurem (CF) and Black Kyurem (FB). At present it’s unsure if Keldeo or any of the other movie Pokemon are set to appear in either set. What we do know is that the sets are going to have 59 cards each, plus additional SR/UR cards. It’s likely that we’ll be seeing a Box Campaign card, though it’s unknown at present. Alongside the sets we’ve got an Official Card Case, Sleeves, Card File, Energy Set + Case, and Playmat featuring Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. We’ve also got our first hard-shell carrying case since BW2 also set to feature the two new mascots.

Additionally, the movie release this year is seeing the return of the Movie Commemoration Pack. Released on the 13th as well, the Movie Commemoration Pack Black Kyurem/White Kyurem Set will feature 1x Freeze Bolt, 1x Cold Flare, 1x Dark Rush, and 1x Red Collection booster pack(s). Along with those is a special original Keldeo holo promotional card, and a campaign entry postcard.

As usual, July is already providing a plethora of cards, and that’s without promotional cards announced.

August also is seeing a small release to keep the flow going. Two blister packs have been announced: Premium Holo Card Special Pack Reshiram, and Premium Holo Card Special Pack Zekrom. These two packs will finally have the Japanese releases of the previously English-exclusive SR full art ZekromEX/ReshiramEX cards, along with a rather large assortment of booster packs. These packs are due out on August 3rd, costing 1,280円 a piece.

In addition to the CM and the handful of cards introduced by it, we’ve got another small bite of information thanks to the latest issue of Pokemon Fan magazine. While the magazine doesn’t reveal too much more than we already know, we’ve now got our first shot of Swablu from Dragon’s Blade, and Drifblim from Dragons Blast. We’ve also got Drifloon, Deino, Zweilous and a slightly better shot of Roserade from the Hydreigon Deck, alongside Gible, and Gabite from the Garchomp Deck.

It seems that the Pokemon featured in the decks are also going to feature in the main sets, given Electrike was shown in the CM but has a deck variant as well. You can check out the larger scans of the cards on Collectorviper.

A small update from the Pokemon-Card website tonight. The previously teased campaign where you can purchase select amounts of Dragon’s Blade, Dragons Blast, Dragon Selection, or the Garchomp/Hydreigon decks and go into the draw to win some cards has had some more light shed on it.

The website revealed today that the cards will be SR RayquazaEX and GiratinaEX. Presumably these are alternate versions of their SR cards, unless they aren’t making the cut for the sets. There will only be 1,000 sets issued. Entries start March 16, and prizes will be rewarded in May.

As usual we’ll keep you informed of news as it comes.

During tonight’s episode of Pokemon Best Wishes the CM for the two sets Dragon’s Blade and Dragons Blast, both due out this month, was featured. In addition to showing us the first Dragon Type EX cards, we were given a plethora of previously unknown cards. It’s been a dry spell the past month and a bit regarding news of these sets, so this is a refreshing hit of news, as we practically know nothing about them. You can check out the new cards below.

Confirmed cards for Dragons Blast include: Hydreigon, GiratinaEX, Aron, Alomomola, Ambipom, Ninetales, Stunfisk, Flaafy, Trubbish, and Cascoon.
Confirmed cards for Dragon’s Blade include: Garchomp, RayquazaEX, Hoppip, Gothita, Electrike, Magmar, Feebas, Roggenrola, Stunky, and Altaria.

With major thanks to Lucariolukun for the card list and photos, and Denkimouse for the heads up. BW5 is due out in the next two weeks, so we’ll keep you informed of cards as they come.

And apologies that it’s been quiet! There hasn’t been much news wise, and back-end wise I’m currently looking to rehost CV stuff which is why there hasn’t been much in the way of scans lately. Soon, though. Thank you for your patience and patronage.

A BIG update tonight thanks to Pokemon-Card.com. The website officially unveiled the March block, with Dragon’s Blade and Dragons Blast taking the centre stage. Additionally, the two decks being released along side of it have been unveiled. Due to the size of this update I’m breaking it down into block segments, so here we go.

Dragon’s Blade/Dragons Blast:

As it’s been a while since these two sets were talked about, a reiteration. Dragon’s Blade and Dragons Blast are both due out on the 16th of March, and will both feature 50 cards. Dragon’s Blade has a focus on the League Castle, while Dragons Blast will feature an N’s Castle thematic.

The official site today showcased Garchomp (040/050) from Dragon’s Blade, and Hydreigon (042/050) from Dragons Blast. The PCGN site also gave us Altaria (037/040), also from Dragon’s Blade.

Other known confirmed cards include Emonga, Slaking, and Rayquaza for Dragon’s Blade, and Ambipom, Durant, Giratina, and Devolution Spray for Dragons Blast. Ninetails is confirmed to appear as well (see: promotional card) but it’s not yet known which set it will be in.

Hydreigon Deck/Garchomp Deck:
The two theme decks were also revealed. Both the Hydreigon and the Garchomp decks will be released when the sets come out on the 16th of March. Each deck contains 15 unique cards. In addition to showing their star cards off, the PCGN website also teased us with Roserade and Devolution Spray from the Hydreigon Deck, along with Gabite and Rare Candy from the Garchomp Deck. Rare Candy is confirmed to be in both decks.

Promotional:
While it’s been known for a little while, this is the first time we’ve gotten an image. BW5 is going to feature the standard Gym Challenge box campaign, wherein if you purchase a box of either set you’ll pick up a holo Ninetales promotional card. At present, it’s unknown what number it is.

Additionally, there is a second campaign being run when the sets and decks are released, in which if you buy 4 of the products (such as 2 decks, and 2 packs) you’ll be able to get some promotional cards. At present, how many variants, and what cards, are unknown.

It’s that time again. Thanks to Toho Auctions, we’ve got early scans of the new subset Dragon Selection which is coming out this Friday. As previously reported, there are only 20 cards in the set, and all of them are holo. The subset features some interesting double ups in terms of Pokemon, meaning there isn’t as vast a selection of Dragons represented. Something that will likely be amended with the two March sets.

As this is a subset, there are no SR or UR cards. You can check them all out over on CollectorViper.

During a CM for the episode next week, Pokemon Smash featured a handful of previously unknown cards from the up and coming Dragon Selection. The cards in question are Latias, Latios, and Dragonite. Of course, given the entire set is holo, the cards in question are holo. Unfortunately we don’t have their numbers at present. Dragon Selection is due out this Friday the 27th, and we’ll likely have spoiler scans courtesy of Toho before then. For now, you can check out the three new cards (albeit not in the greatest quality).

Tonight both Pokemon-Card.com and the main Pokemon website revealed that early buyers of the up and coming Pokemon+Nobunaga’s Ambition crossover game will be able to snap up a shiny Rayquaza promo. The card comes in at 144/BW-P, is holo, and is simply an alternate art print of the Rayquaza coming out in the up and coming Dragon Selection. The promo will be out on the 17th of March alongside the game.
